The world is navigating compounding global crises including conflict, economic uncertainty, deepening inequality, and climate disasters. At the same time, these challenges open up opportunities to reimagine systems, accelerate just energy transitions, and turn disruption into a catalyst for transformative change towards a healthier, more sustainable future.

This three-part webinar series, hosted by the Pathfinder Initiative, explores how climate action can deliver major health benefits, moving from evidence to implementation and evaluation.

The series will highlight the latest research on climate and health, showcase real-world city-level examples of action, and demonstrate how health co-benefits can shape effective climate policies. The webinar series will provide insights for researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and other experts working at the climate-health nexus.

The first webinar focuses on the evidence base for action. Speakers will share findings from the Pathfinder Initiative research programme, such as evidence on the impact of climate and health action in cities and the health benefits of nature-based solutions, as well as new tools that help bring together existing evidence on health co-benefits across sectors and geographies.

Speakers:

  • Rosemary Green, Professor of Environment, Food and Health, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM)
  • Max Callaghan, Researcher, Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK)
  • Tamzin Reynolds, Research Fellow, LSHTM

This session will share practical experiences, lessons learned, and insights that can inform and inspire action in other urban contexts.

Speakers:

  • Andy Haines, Professor of Environmental Change and Public Health, LSHTM
  • Ana Fernanda Hierro, Technical Secretary, Consejo Nuevo León, Monterrey
  • Lorna Benton, Research Fellow, LSHTM
  • Aimée Aguilar Jaber, Programmes Director, Hot or Cool Institute
