Climate mitigation actions, mainly in the transport sector, can reduce trauma and deaths from injuries. Potential risks from increasing active travel must also be considered.

Certain climate mitigation actions, particularly in the transport sector can impact health via the injuries pathway. The Pathfinder review includes estimates of increased injuries from switching to active travel (particularly cycling), as well as some estimates of fewer injuries from reduced car use. This pathway therefore represents a health trade-off (potential negative consequence) as well as a co-benefit.
